In its 43rd year, Tro Bro Leon is a well established race on the calendar. Despite its relatively lowly status (1.Pro) it is distinctive and quirky enough to attract a number of top flight riders all eager to test themselves on the differing terrain of the course. In a cycling world that is becoming more and more obsessed with gravel, Tro Bro Leon is the grandfather. The various ribinou (ribbons - off road, mainly gravel farm tracks) offering spice to the mix alongside the beautiful coastal vistas this part of the world has to offer.
This year you could also factor a strong wind into the equation. This blew headlong into the riders on the final climb of the Keradraon ribin. This was tackled twice, ending, quite literally in the farmyard, alongside the cow sheds, where the riders made a sharp right hand turn to exit.
