Women

83.9 km

As the women’s race got underway early in the morning, the threat of rain very much hung in the air with the roads still wet from earlier showers. The 8.30am start coupled with less clement weather kept some of the avid fans Brittany is renowned for indoors in the opening kilometres.

A rural and punchy lead-out circuit culminated in 5 shorter laps of the finish town of Plumelec. The damp weather continuing until the later stages of the race. Liv AlUla Jayco Women's Continental Team made several efforts to control the race on the circuit. Their efforts were in vain and Eline Jansen of VolkerWessels Cycling Team easily took the win in a sprint finish.

Men

190 km

Later the same day, the men’s race took place over an extended route that still culminated in the circuits tackled by the women earlier in the day. Spectators abandoned umbrellas and wet weather gear for sun hats and shorts as the temperatures rose steeply in the afternoon.

The men raced 12 laps of the finish town, each one with the church as the focal point, local bars filled with spectators making the most of the improving day.

It would have been difficult to imagine a different result to the race with Benoît Cosnefroy taking the spoils from a bunch sprint. His third successive victory in the race.
